HISTORICAL

During the 1980s, a number of church planters were sent out from our fellowship. They established over a dozen new churches in cities and towns around New Zealand, from Kerikeri in the north to Dunedin in the south.

In the late 1980s, we launched a missions project in Brazil, and in the following years, a number of our members spent time as missionaries in that nation. They founded a church in the northern city of Fortaleza, and today, it’s a thriving, independent work with around a thousand people.

RECENT AND CURRENT

We’re pleased to make a significant impact for God’s kingdom in the following nations. All the missions we support are independent in their administration.

Philippines

For over 10 years, we’ve partnered with a church in Manila, giving financial, pastoral and practical support. Under the leadership of pastor Eugene Dacanay, the church has flourished in this time and they now meet in several locations across the city. Pastor Eugene also oversees close to forty churches in the surrounding region for Christ Life Assemblies and it’s a challenge for them to keep up with the demand for new pastors.

Metamorphic International

For the best part of a decade, our fellowship has enjoyed an amazingly fruitful collaboration with Metamorphic International, a church planting and charitable organization that has aided in planting around 2,500 churches. From these groups, more than 7,500 new churches have also been planted, mostly in Africa and Southern Asia. Our former senior pastor, Fred Needham, along with his wife, Ivy, have visited these missions and other emerging nations on behalf of  Metamorphic, to teach and train groups of young pastors.

Fiji

Our support of the Tuva Christian Assembly in Fiji is a balance of spiritual and practical help. Over the years, we’ve assisted the local congregation with much needed infrastructure, building and equipment upgrades, as well as establishing some projects to generate income. On the spiritual side, we’ve encouraged the leadership and church members in numerous areas and fostered a culture of faith and passion for the Lord. God’s power is evident in this congregation and healings are commonplace.
